FALL 2025

Dear Neighbors,

It’s hard to believe it’s already been ten months since I joined the City Council. I’ve been working hard for you and staying active in our community, learning a lot along the way. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but I’m excited to keep serving and finding ways to make Concord an even better place to live, work, and raise a family, and retire.

I’m here, I’m accessible, and I always welcome your thoughts and ideas. You can reach me anytime at BenaventeForConcord@gmail.com.

As we head into Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I hope you and your loved ones take time to rest and reconnect. And as the weather turns colder, remember to weatherproof your homes and check in on neighbors who might need a hand.

Sincerely,

Pablo

COUNCIL VOTES TO INVEST $1.63 MILLION INTO NEW MOBILE DIGNITY CENTER

I’m proud to share that the City Council has approved a $1.6 million grant to launch Concord’s first-ever Mobile Dignity Center, a groundbreaking initiative that brings housing, health, and essential services directly to our unhoused neighbors with no barriers or preconditions.

This two-year pilot, led by Caminar and supported by partners like NAMI Contra Costa, Loaves & Fishes, White Pony Express, and RotaCare, will operate weekly at First Christian Church on Willow Pass Road and is expected to serve over 300 residents.

Thanks to our Homeless Strategic Plan, Concord has already seen a 45% reduction in our unsheltered population since 2023. This new program builds on that progress, moving us closer to ensuring every resident has access to dignity, stability, and hope.

COUNCIL EXPANDS SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Great news for our seniors! Concord has launched a free curb to curb Senior Shuttle through the Concord Go! program, making it easier for residents 65 and older and those with disabilities to get to the Senior Center for meals, classes, and community events.

Funded by a TRANSPAC grant, the shuttle operates Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 3:30 PM, connecting homes directly to the Senior Center on Parkside Circle. This program reflects our continued commitment to making Concord more accessible, inclusive, and connected for all.
